GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Drivers in Wisconsin should expect to start the summer paying more at the pump.
The National average has risen for the last seven straight weeks. Prices in Green Bay have also seen a pretty big jump up 23 cents from the last month.”
Summers traditionally start with an increase in gas prices, but this year, Patrick Dehaan of GasBuddy.com says there is another factor in play.
“Prolonged maintenance outages which traditionally stretch from April and even May, continue to push gas prices up.”
He says right now is a double-edged sword because there is the seasonal trend and the price of oil rising at the same time and adds that means people should prepare to pay more to fill up as summer arrives.
“Then we will see some minor relief likely in the month of June.”
In the last seven weeks, the National Average and prices in Green Bay have both been increasing.
