GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An annual event gave kids an all-access pass to fun in Green Bay.
The city’s Kids’ Day was held at several city parks, businesses and organizations.
It’s a day where kids get to enjoy free admission at places like Bay Beach and city pools, free lunch and plenty of different activities.
And new this year, one kid got to be “Mayor of the Day.”
Mayor Eric Genrich says this event is important to send the message that kids and families are essential to Green Bay.
“I think we’ve been known for a long time as a community that’s great for families, that’s safe, that’s welcoming, that just have so many different amenities from our parks, to our businesses, to Bay Beach, to our wildlife sanctuary, to the Botanical Garden and it’s a nice opportunity to send that message to them that they are valuable to us,” Genrich said.
Green Bay Kids’ Day is held at the end of June every year as it marks the halfway point to Christmas.
In honor of Kids’ Day, the downtown bridges will be lit green, red, and white Monday night.
