NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Neenah Joint School District and Manitowoc Public School District will transition to virtual learning, citing high COVID-19 rates and rising community spread respectively.
Virtual learning for Neenah schools, which also citied high student absentee rates and staffing challenges, will begin Monday.
Online learning will be in effect until at least October 16th with the district hoping to return to the classroom beginning October 19th.
The move back to in-person or hybrid learning will depend if school and community data improve by Oct. 15, the district says.
More information on the move can be found on the Neenah Joint School District website.
Manitowoc schools will begin virtual learning October 12th.
The district says students will go to school one or two days the week of October 5th to meet with their teachers.
The district has established a “learning model decision matrix” that shows the type of instruction based on Manitowoc County’s burden rate.
The burden rate will be monitored by the district to determine when in-person learning can resume.
