GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt will end his 16-year-run as Mayor with a bang.
The Mayor will host a private gathering and an open house that is open to the public.
The first event will be for friends and business associates at the new Hotel Northland on Friday.
The night will conclude with fireworks at 8:30 p.m.
On Monday, April 1, the Mayor will host an open house at City Hall.
The public can enjoy refreshments and gifts that the Mayor received in the last 16 years.
The event will be from 3:00 p.m until 6:00 p.m.
“This is a time for me to thank the people of Green Bay for giving me the opportunity to serve our terrific city,” says Schmitt.
Schmitt is stepping down from his position this spring and a new mayor will be elected on April 2 in the non-partisan spring election.
