OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – Just after 11 Sunday night, Oshkosh PD responded to a shooting in the 500 block of Grand St.
“When the officers arrived they had contact with a 28-year-old male that had in fact been shot,” explains Lieutenant Andy Lecker, with the Oshkosh Police Department. “He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
Officers were able to speak with the victim to acquire a better understanding of the situation.
“Based off of a description provided by the victim, members of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, along with Wisconsin State Patrol, were able to stop the vehicle that the suspects were in along Highway 41,” he explains.
After the vehicle was stopped, arrests were made.
“Four individuals were taken into custody in relation to the incident,” explains Lieutenant Lecker. “Those four individuals are in the Winnebago County Jail at this point for attempted first-degree intentional homicide.”
At this time the Oshkosh Police Department is not looking for further suspects.
“One of the suspects, for sure, was known to the victim,” he says. “We believe that the suspects specifically went to that location to make contact with the victim in this incident.”
While the investigation is ongoing police believe that the victim was targeted and that the public is not in danger.
