MADISON, WI (WRN) – April is Donate Life month, and it’s a good time to review how you might be able to save the lives of others.
April is Donate Life month, and it’s a good time to review how you might be able to save the lives of others.
Versiti (VERZ-ih-tee) spokesman Mike Queen says donating life is more than just putting a little orange dot on your driver’s license.
“Whether that’s through blood donation, or organ donation or tissue donation, the ability to help other patients in need, that’s really a rewarding experience.”
He says that sticker should be a reminder to you and your family about your wishes.
“There’s a lot of different ways that people can give. So when you do see that sticker on your license, it makes you pause and think how can I help other people in the event that something may happen to me or may happen to a loved one.”
Queen says signing up for organ donation, or donating blood ensures that people in dire medical need have hope.
“Provide that gift of life to others in life, where in their darkest hour, they can count on their community to help them as well.”
