GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The start of spring really kicks off a lot of sports merchandise shopping in Wisconsin.
Those who choose to do that shopping online rather than brick and mortar should be careful where they spend their money.
“You are going to want to look for contact information, a physical address and you are going to want to look for well-known retailers.”
Susan Bach of the Better Business Bureau says they receive different complaints.
“We get a lot of complaints about the poor quality of the merchandise, or the fact that it takes forever to arrive or does not arrive at all.”
She says scam artists have one big way to lure shoppers.
“The lowest price often times is not the best.”
She says people tend to shop online to save money, so the lower prices are attractive.
Bach says making sure the website has contact information, knowing the seller and checking for security on the website are ways to shop safely.

Like many things, Bach says if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
