MILWAUKEE, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) A student at Milwaukee’s Rufus King International Middle School is facing charges after two BB guns were found in their locker.
Police were called to the school at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon after a report of a student with a gun.A spokesman for Milwaukee Public Schools says the student never threatened anyone and no shots were fired. The school issued a statement to parents that said: “At no time did the student threaten other students. At no time was there a discharge from the BB guns. As a precaution, the school was placed on a code red, which limited student movement inside and outside the building.” Some parents complained about the limited information that was released about the incident. There are reports that the student showed the guns to another student, who then told staff. It’s unclear why the student brought them to school.
The student will face disciplinary action from the school in addition to criminal charges.
