MILWAUKEE, WI (MetroSoruce-WSAU) New details are being made public about the arrest of the suspected leader of a heroin and cocaine ring in Milwaukee. 35-year-old Chauncey Griffin had $1-million in cash and at least 37 guns when he was arrested last month.
Authorities accused him in court Tuesday of being a major supplier of the drugs in the city.
Griffin faces 18 charges, and is accused of being the main supplier for nearly two dozen drug dealers in the area.
Griffin was one of 23 people arrested as part of a months-long investigation by the city’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force. His phone calls were monitored under warrant between May and June, and he the target of undercover surveillance for up to 14-hours a day.
He remains jailed on $250,000 bond.
