The Green Bay Phoenix women’s basketball team doesn’t look up in the standings very often in the Horizon League, afterall, they’re seeking an incredible 20th consecutive regular season championship this year.
But there’s a newcomer to the Horizon this year in the IUPUI Jaguars who won their first five conference games in impressive fashion.
Not so fast rookies…
Green Bay dominated the contest in Indianapolis Monday night, winning 60-34. For the second straight game, the Phoenix held their opponents to just 12 first half points while Green Bay rang up 34 and coasted to the victory that pulls them into a share of first in the Horizon at 5-1.
Allie LeClaire led with 20 points on 8 of 9 shooting from the floor while Jessica Lindstrom added 15.
Green Bay, which climbed two spots to number 23 in this week’s AP poll, is now 15-2 overall and back on their customary perch atop the conference standings.
