UNDATED (MetroSource-WSAU) Race car driver Matt Kenseth of Wisconsin is returning to the NASCAR Cup Series this season.
According to SB Nation, Kenseth, who won the 2003 NASCAR Championship, will drive Roush Fenway Racing’s number-six car in select races. He’ll share the car with driver Trevor Bayne for the rest of the season. The announcement will be made official at a media event for the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday.
Kenseth’s first race is expected to be May 12th at Kansas Speedway.
Kenseth, 42, was pushed out of the series last year because he could not find a sponsor. He has 39 NASCAR wins, 19 with Roush-Fenway.
