MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Police in Manitowoc are asking people in a north-side neighborhood to check for missing things after two men were arrested trying to break in to a home.
Just after 3 a.m. this morningy, police say a neighbor reported seeing two men climbing onto a second-story balcony in the 700 block of N. 5th Street.
When officers arrived, they saw one man on the balcony. The other man was hiding in a bush. When officers approached him, he ran away.
Police said he appeared to be carrying a knife, so they shot him with a stun gun. They later determined he was carrying a prying tool.
Police found the second man’s vehicle parked in the neighborhood. Inside, officers found valuables that had been stolen from a home in the area.
The first man, a 30-year-old from Wausaukee, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and criminal damage to property.
The second man, a 25-year-old from Brookfield, was arrested on possible charges of burglary, criminal damage to property, possession of burglarious tools and possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.
