UNDATED (WSAU) Some drivers in Wisconsin will experience their first winter driving conditions over the next 24-hours. Western Wisconsin is expecting its first round of snow for the season.
Wet weather from a low-pressure system is expected to switch over to snow by this evening in the Chippewa Valley. There were already scattered snow showers from Thursday morning near the Wisconsin-Minnesota state line. And rain is changing over to snow in the Hudson, Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls areas.
The impact of the snow is expected to be minimal, but may cause slick roadways. Wausau may see a dusting to an inch.
Some areas north of Wausau could see 3-5 inches of snow from Friday night into Saturday morning. There’s a winter weather advisory for Vilas county from 7pm Friday to 1pm Saturday, and a winter storm warning for Ashland and Iron counties for the same time period.
