UNDATED (WSAU) – A Wauwatosa native is among the people killed Sunday night in the massacre at a country music festival in Las Vegas.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Steve Berger was celebrating his 44th birthday at the show when he and hundreds of others were shot. Berger was part of a six-member group of concert-goers that included his sister Christine Moore. She says her brother was shot in the back or chest, and that efforts to revive him had to be stopped when others had to flee the area.
His parents Richard and Mary Berger live in Brookfield and were told by the coroner’s office in Las Vegas Tuesday afternoon that they had identified their son.
Berger was a 1991 graduate of Wauwatosa West High School and was working for EFS Advisors in Minneapolis as a financial advisor.
