The Green Bay Phoenix women cracked the USA Today Coaches poll for the first time this season, coming in ranked 25th this week. The Phoenix are one spot out of the AP top 25 and they took to the floor Tuesday night at the Kress Events Center and put on another dominating Horizon League performance.
Green Bay shut down Valparaiso 56-35, holding the Crusaders to 20 percent shooting for the game in winning for the eighth consecutive game.
Jen Wellnitz led the Phoenix with a career high matching 15 points.
The Phoenix are now 16-2 overall and 7-0 in Horizon League play. They’ll host Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon at the Kress.
