The Green Bay Phoenix women had a rare off night but still held on to beat Detroit 60-55 at the Kress Events Center Wednesday night.
The Phoenix improved to 5-0 in Horizon League play and 13-2 overall despite shooting just 39 percent from the floor and making only 9 of 21 free throws for the game.
Mehryn Kraker led the way with 14 points while Allie LeClaire added 13 and Jen Wellnitz scored 11 with a game high six steals.
Green Bay led by 14 at halftime but the cold shooting allowed Detroit to creep to within five in the second half but they would get no closer.
The Phoenix return to the Kress on Friday night to host Oakland at 7:00 PM.
