MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) — The largest single seizure of heroin in Marathon County’s history was found during a traffic stop near Mosinee Sunday night.
The vehicle was pulled over by the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department on I-39 heading northbound and a K-9 officer detected illegal drugs in the car with an open air sniff. 5.4 ounces of heroin and a loaded handgun were found in the car. That amount of heroin has a street value of $60,000.
39-year-old Craig Gates, 34-year-old Daryl Harris, and 18-year-old Cassidy Milonczyk have all been arrested and will be charged with various violations, including possession of heroin with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug trafficking vehicle, and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
