ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – The Packers are once again taking advantage of cold Wisconsin winters with a Winter Jubilee’ to debut the newest addition to the Titletown District.
Packer CEO and President Mark Murphy said winters are going to be something to look forward to.
“We are going to turn Green Bay into a Winter Wonderland.”
Thursday, the ribbon was cut for the ice skating rink and new 46-Below Bistro that gets it’s name from the windchill at the Ice Bowl.
The Winter Jubilee’ included ice skating, ice sculpting, a warm fire, music, fireworks, a light show and a visit from Santa.
One aspect of the newly opened area did not open Thursday.
Murphy said Mother Nature needs to help with the tubing hill.
“It has been too warm, and it has to be freezing for a number of days so the ground can freeze.”
Murphy did say it will be worth the wait.
“The tubes are rubber, but they have a hard plastic shell. I think we will be getting close to Ridge Road so it should be fun” he joked.
The Winter Jubilee is a month long celebration that will continue through December.
