The Toronto Raptors ended the Milwaukee Bucks season with a 92-89 victory at the BMO Harris Bradley Center Thursday night, finishing off the Eastern Conference first round series in six games.
Give the Bucks an A for effort though as they trailed by 25 points in the second half before putting on a furious rally, led by All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo. He scored a playoff career high 34 points to go along with nine rebounds. Khris Middleton added 19 as the Bucks roared to an 80-78 lead on a Jason Terry three pointer with three minutes to play.
The Raptors answered before Greg Monroe made it 82-80 Bucks. Toronto then reeled off nine straight points to seize control to the finish. DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 32 points as Toronto won the last three games of the series, including two in Milwaukee to advance to the second round. They will face defending champion Cleveland next.
The Bucks finished sixth in the Eastern Conference and made the playoffs for the second time in three years under Jason Kidd. The team has a lot of young talent that hopes to take another step next year when they move into their brand new arena in downtown Milwaukee.
