OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – Oshkosh police say they are looking for three suspects who tried robbing a pedestrian at knifepoint over the weekend.
According to police, the victim says he was walking just after 3 a.m. Saturday in the area of E. Irving Avenue and Mt. Vernon Street when he noticed 3 males walking in the same area. One of them approached the victim, showed a knife and demanded money.
A fight ensued, police say, and the would-be robber ran off without getting any money. The three suspects ran north on Mt. Vernon Street.
The would-be robber is described as a white man in his mid-20s, between 5’8″ and 5’10”, with shaggy hair and red spots on his neck and face. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other two males were not described in detail.
Police checked the area, but did not find anyone. It’s unclear whether the incident is related to a strong-armed robbery the next night in the 1100 block of High Avenue.
