MILWAUKEE, WI (MetroSource) Brewers manager Craig Counsell and his entire staff will be back next season. General manager David Stearns made the announcement yesterday during an end-of-season press conference.
The Crew went 73-and-89 this season, Counsell’s first full year as manager. That’s a five-win improvement from 2015.
Meanwhile a trio of Brewers are heading for free agency. Third baseman Will Middlebrooks, and pitcher Sm Freeman and Michael Kirkman have all elected to become free agents.
Middlebrooks played in just 10 games with the Crew this season, batting .111 with 13 strikeouts in 27 at-bats.
