NEENAH, WI (WTAQ) – The Winnebago County Heroin Task Force is partnering with the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin to provide free Narcan training to the community.
The next training session will take place Thursday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Neenah Public Library and will last about an hour.
Heidi Keating, Public Health Planner with the Winnebago County Health Department, says they hope to reduce the number of overdose deaths by doing these training sessions.
“One of the ways to do that, is to have more Narcan available not only the users themselves but to friends and family members.”
That’s why free Narcan will be given out at the meeting.
“Participants will leave the training knowing how to administer Narcan,” says Keating.
Keating says family members and friends of opiate abusers usually come to the training sessions.
The Neenah Public Library is located at 240 E. Wisconsin Ave.
The meeting will take place in the Shattuck Room.
