OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – A pastor will stand trial for allegedly trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl.
Rev. Joshua Scheil is facing three counts, including child enticement. He’ll enter a plea on May 16.
According to the criminal complaint, Scheil contacted an undercover Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office analyst posing as a 13-year-old girl from Oshkosh on a teen website in March.
Scheil, who’s from Kenosha County, had arraigned a meeting with the girl at a hotel in Oshkosh on April 12. Scheil had also sent the undercover agent sexually explicit messages and stated several times he wanted to have sexual relations with her when they met, the criminal complaint states.
At the time of his arrest, Scheil worked as a Lutheran minister in Twin Lakes.
