MILWAUKEE (MetroSource) – Several young people could be facing charges after police in riot gear had to be called to Sherman Park. A group of up to 100 juveniles and young adults were breaking windows, and some threw rocks at police.
A police report says officers were called to the park around 8pm because of a rock-throwing incident. Most of the teens left the area when officers arrived. But many returned a few hours later. Milwaukee PD and Milwaukee County deputies were called to clear the area.
There were no injuries reported, but a gas station window was broken out by a brick or a rock last night. One squad car had a window broken out.
Police blocked off streets near 38th and Burleigh for a time last night.
