The W.I.A.A. Girls State Soccer Tournament kicked off Thursday at the Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee and three area teams lost in semifinal action.
In Division 3, the Notre Dame Academy Tritons were beaten again by Waukesha Catholic Memorial 2-0. It was a rematch of last year’s championship game. The Tritons are still seeking their first girls’ soccer title after making a 10th trip to state. The Crusaders will play Belleville/New Glarus Saturday, gunning for a record 5th consecutive championship.
Belleville/New Glarus eliminated Seymour 1-0 as the Thunder gave up a goal in the 86th minute.
In Division 4, Oostburg was beaten by The Prairie School 1-0. Prairie outshot the Lady Dutch 25-2 as Oostburg finished the season 20-2-3. Aquinas also advanced to the D4 Final by beating Lake Country Lutheran 2-1.
Semifinals in Divisions 1 and 2 are on tap Friday. Pulaski meets Oregon in a Division 2 semifinal at noon.
