ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU-WAOW) — Governor Scott Walker is a known motorcycle enthusiast, a fact he shows off every summer on the Governor’s Ride tour through the state.
Walker ended his day Saturday at the Grand Lodge Waterpark Resort in Rothschild, where he began the ride on Sunday and spoke to WAOW Newsline 9 about the wonders the state has to offer for tourists.
He said, “There’s just such a wide diversity of attractions and views and just natural beauty here. One of the reasons that we like riding on the motorcycle is because you get to see it all first-hand.”
The governor was flanked by 50 other riders this year and also stopped through Montello, Wautoma, Clintonville, Bonduel, Thorp, and Cashton before getting back to Madison. He began the annual trek in 2003 while serving as County Executive for Milwaukee County.
