BURLINGTON, Wis (WSAU-Wheeler News) Walworth County authorities say high speed and alcohol may have caused a head-on traffic crash that killed two people and critically hurt three others near Burlington. The fatal victims were identified Monday as 51-year-old Elizabeth Wolfson of Shorewood and 30-year-old Volodymyr Khlopetskyy of Chicago.
Authorities say the Chicago driver crossed a center-line and struck an oncoming vehicle in which Wolfson was a passenger. Wolfson’s driver, a 50-year-old Glendale man, was hospitalized in critical condition at last word, along with two others from Chicago.
The crash happened Saturday night on Highway 120 in the Walworth County town of Spring Prairie.
