MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – A Wisconsin bill would require childproof packaging for the liquid nicotine used in vapor cigarettes.
A state Assembly panel heard testimony this week on the measure, which seeks to prevent kids from ingesting the drug.
The federal government and other states are considering childproof packaging. That’s after multiple cases nationwide of kids dying or getting sick by inadvertently drinking the nicotine.
Assembly Republican Samantha Kerkman of Salem says pure nicotine is deadly, and mixing it with flavors and scents makes it “very attractive to children.”
