MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) – Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says more good things are happening in his city than anywhere else in Wisconsin.
The mayor was delivering his annual State of the City address Monday, citing an improved job climate and fewer foreclosed homes for his optimism.
He says more Milwaukeeans have jobs now than at any time in the last 15 years. Barrett also notes that Milwaukee has sold about 1,000 foreclosed properties to private owners.
Aldermen Joe Davis and Bob Donovan are running for the mayor’s post in next Tuesday’s primary, along with James Methu — and they criticize the incumbent for last year’s large increase in murders along with more crashes that involve stolen vehicles.
