WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) — The Democrat that wants his former U.S. Senate seat back was campaigning in Wausau Thursday. Russ Feingold discussed education and financial aid programs with leaders at UW Marathon County.
Feingold is concerned, and told WAOW television he believes aid programs for Wisconsin college students are in trouble. “I think the state needs to continue to support this and the federal government needs to support things like this TRIO program that makes sure that young people who come from families that’ve never had a young person go to college, that they actually have that help, so that’s a partnership.”
Feingold’s listening tour is part of his campaign against incumbent Republican Ron Johnson, who unseated Feingold five years ago.
