STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Another lawsuit has been filed to prevent a hotel development project in Sturgeon Bay.
A group called “CountryPeopleCare Inc.” filed the civil lawsuit in Door County Circuit Court this week against the City of Sturgeon Bay and the Door County Economic Development Corporation.
According to the suit, the hotel project doesn’t meet the city’s stated goals for redeveloping the property.
A federal judge last week dismissed a different lawsuit, ruling that the claims should have been made in state court.
That federal lawsuit argued extensively about the use of lakebed property. The state lawsuit does not mention that issue.
The city and county have not responded to the suit. No court dates have been scheduled.
