(WNFL) – Markus Howard scored 27 points for Marquette University on Saturday afternoon at Newark, N.J. but no other Golden Eagles player cracked double figures in the 69-55 loss to Seton Hall.
The Golden Eagles tied the game at 45 in the second half but Seton Hall then went on a 9-0 run that Marquette just couldn’t overcome.
Brendan Bailey had 11 rebounds for the Golden Eagles who shot just 32 percent from the floor.
Seton Hall was led by Myles Powell’s 23 points. Romaro Gill added 10 for the Pirates who shot 53 percent in the first half but only 35 percent in the second half.
Neither team shot well from the free throw line as the two teams combined to make just 25-of-43.
Marquette returns home to play Xavier on Wednesday.
