UNDATED (WSAU) Gas prices are rising as 2016 comes to a close.
In the Milwaukee area AAA-Wisconsin reports gas is averaging $2.34-a-gallon, an increase of 14-cents over the last week.
Other parts of the state have seen similar increases. The average price in Green Bay is $2.31. Some gas stations are still selling at $2.24 in Wausau, Stevens Point, and Sheboygan, with prices trending upward.
The statewide average is $2.31, up 12-cents in the past week. Gasoline in Wisconsin is now 3-cents more expensive than the nationwide average of $2.28.
Crude oil prices have risen to $53-a-barrell over the last week, as OPEC nations continue to monitor a fragile agreement to limit production. In recent months other efforts to limit crude oil supplies have failed.
