UNDATED (WSAU) Governor Scott Walker is in the Middle East this week to visit deployed troops. A spokesman for Walker says he is visiting National Guardsmen as part of a delegation of governors organized by the US Department of Defense. A tweet from Walker’s spokesperson Tom Evenson told reporters about the trip for the first time.
The DOD says the purpose of the program is to allow governors to visit with soldiers from their own states.
It hasn’t been revealed which countries the governor is stopping in due to security concerns. The trip will last until Friday.
