GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – With the start of classes in most public school districts right around the corner, the Brown County Health Department is beginning an aggressive child immunization campaign.
It all starts with a mass immunization clinic tomorrow (THUR) afternoon, from 4 to 6 at St. Willebrord Church in D’town Green Bay.
Brown County interim health director Debbie Armbruster.
“no appointment is needed, we are able to immunize all children, ages 2 through 18 years of age….regardless of insurance”
Translators will also be on site.
Armbruster says over the next few months the department will also be going into schools for immunizations.
The goal is to get 80-percent of Brown County kids immunized.
In addition to improving the overall health of people living in Brown County….the size and scope of Thursday’s clinic gives staff some important experience as well.
“this prepares them for any kind of response they might have to do in the event of a health emergency”
The department is also planning a mass flu immunization clinic for adults in October.
