MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) — Another convicted felon has been sentenced for his connection to a heroin ring.
26-year-old Gregory D. Richardson of Stevens Point and six others were arrested last summer after an investigation by the Central Wisconsin Drug Task Force into what was discovered as a heroin distribution ring involving more than 1,000 grams of the narcotic. He pled guilty to his charges in January and received a sentence of 10 years in federal prison by Judge William Conley.
Tiffany Bell received the most harsh sentence so far with 136 months. Cody Thompson was sentenced to 30 months, Almond resident Megan Pray Genett was sentenced to 24 months, Marguerite Tompkins of Waupaca was sentenced to 60 months, and Kristy Dietel of Wisconsin Rapids was sentenced to 36 months.
A related case with four Milwaukee men and another 1,000 grams of heroin will be heard in July. They are Hurley C. Jackson, 33; Terrance D. Jackson, 29; Charles D. Hall, 31; and DeWight S. Williams, 37.
Hannah Hovick of Marathon is the last defendant of the central Wisconsin group to be sentenced this Friday.
