MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – A southern Wisconsin man is being held under $1 million bond for allegedly beheading his mother with a sword.
40-year-old Matthew Skalitzky is at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute at Oshkosh. He appeared in Dane County Circuit Court Monday on a charge of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 68-year-old Jane Skalitzky on September 11th at a townhouse in Sun Prairie.
Prosecutors say Matthew has severe mental illness, and he regarded people as inhuman clones.
Officials say Skalitzky got angry after his mother found a box with a sword and knives.
He’s due back in court October 6th for a preliminary hearing.
