GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay Packers’ defensive end Datone Jones never got a concussion in Monday night’s home win over Kansas City.
He left the game early, after an apparent helmet-to-helmet collision with his teammate Joe Thomas. Jones now says Thomas hit his shoulder pad, not his head. He says he never felt spacey, and he was upset about having to go to the locker room for the concussion tests he says he passed.
Still, Jones believes it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Meanwhile, coach Mike McCarthy says he’ll have a better idea after Thursday’s practice whether safety Morgan Burnett can start at San Francisco on Sunday.
He missed the Monday night K.C. contest after he aggravated a calf injury at practice last week.
