GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Shopko stores have announced that stores in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan will open earlier on Thanksgiving Day than first thought.
On Wednesday, Shopko announced they would open at 4 p.m. Thursday November 26 for the start of Black Friday shopping and remain open until 11 p.m. Friday November 27.
But today, stores will now open at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day to allow Packers fans time to shop and get home for the game that night. The Packers host the Chicago Bears at 7:30 p.m.
“Shopko is proud to be the Official Hometown Store of the Green Bay Packers,” Peter McMahon, Shopko CEO, said in a statement. “Before fans sit down to watch the Packers take on the Chicago Bears they can get a jump on their holiday shopping and take advantage of our Black Friday deals before the big game.”
The smaller format Hometown stores in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan will be open Thanksgiving Day from 2 p.m. to midnight. Shopko Pharmacy will be open Thursday November 26th from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., then on Friday, November 27th during normal hours.
