WAUKESHA, WI (WTAQ) – An Oconomowoc man has been put on three years’ probation for hitting his three-year-old son in the face because the boy did not fold his hands correctly while praying.
The man, who was not identified to protect the victim’s identity, will spend up to 8 months in jail if he doesn’t follow his probation orders.
He struck a plea deal with Waukesha County prosecutors that convicted him of battery and disorderly conduct. A felony child abuse count was dropped.
The boy’s mother told police the youngster had red facial marks and black eyes, after he spent a night with his father.
The man was charged in June. A judge will decide in early December how much restitution he’ll have to pay the boy’s custodial mother.
