Green Bay, Wi (WTAQ) – A two year battle takes a big step today (Monday), as ground is broken for expansion of the Brown County Southwest Branch Library, at 974 9th Street in Green Bay.
The 12-hundred square foot add-on will include rooms for meetings, additional computer space and study rooms.
Brown County Library Director Brian Simons says the Southwest Branch plays an important role in the neighborhood.
Everything from introducing children to ready….to offering computers needed for the unemployed to find work.
There was a time earlier this year when it looked like the library might close because of a budget crunch.
But the $250 thousand price tag was finally approved by the County Board Of Supervisors.
The expansion should be finished early next year.
