DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) – De Pere police are investigating a death that has more questions than answers right now.
Authorities were called to do a welfare check at Legion Pointe private residences just off the 1100 block of Chicago Street around 3 a.m. Saturday.
According to the De Pere P.D., they found a man with unknown injuries. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
“At this time we are investigating this as a death investigation and trying to determine what transpired that caused the death,” Captain Dale Haagen told FOX 11.
He added this is an active investigation with no threat to the public.
“We are not sure what the cause of death is, and hopefully we’ll be able to find something to help us determine what in fact that is,” Haagen said.
Police would not confirm what type of injuries the man had. They also wouldn’t comment if anyone else was in the home when they arrived.
