GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay police say a “wrong way” driver caused a two vehicle crash overnight.
Authorities say it happened on Highway 57 at Algoma Road around 12:15 a.m. Saturday.
Officials say they first received a call about the driver heading north in the southbound lanes of Highway 57 near Nicolet Drive. On the way to find the driver, officers were then called about the crash at Algoma Road.
Upon arrival, officers found the driver of the vehicle going the right way on southbound 57 standing outside of their vehicle. The vehicle overturned due to the crash, but the driver suffered only minor injuries.
The “wrong way” driver, a 30-year-old New Franken man, was injured and taken to a hospital. Officials say charges are expected against him, including OWI causing injury.
Highway 57 has reopened to traffic after being closed for more than 4 hours.
