OKLAHOMA CITY, Ok. (WSAU-Wheeler News) — Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker was the second choice of people attending the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City.
More than 20-percent of those attending this week’s event said they supported Walker. Retired Doctor Ben Carson came in first place in the straw poll of Republicans. Texas Senator Ted Cruz was third, even though he didn’t attend due to some votes in the U-S Senate.
More than two-thousand people from 22 states attended the three-day conference. Most were from Oklahoma. Walker was the first declared or likely candidate to take the podium.
