RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAU) — The young man that travelled to Indiana with the teenager accused of killing her parents is now facing a court case of his own. 22-year-old Ryan Sisco’s charges have nothing to do with the double homicide of 37-year-old Thomas Ayers and 40-year-old Jennifer Ayers March 8th in the Oneida County Town of Piehl. What investigators did charge Sisco with was having sex with a child. That’s because his girlfriend and homicide suspect Ashlee Martinson is still 17-years-old.
This is a misdemeanor charge. Sisco told officers he had recently started a relationship with Martinson in late February or early March, and he thought she was over 18. He told officers he had seen Martinson purchase cigarettes at a Rhinelander store, and didn’t suspect she was under 18 until someone told him on Facebook.
The judge withheld his sentencing decision during court Tuesday. A review hearing will be held later this month.
As for Martinson, she remains in jail charged with shooting her stepfather and stabbing her mother in their home, and then locking three younger siblings in a bedroom before fleeing Wisconsin. She and Sisco were stopped on an interstate highway near Lebanon, Indiana. The younger children are in the care of social services officials.
