(WNFL)- Green Bay Packers’ nose tackle Letroy Guion had his drug-and-gun charges dropped yesterday in his home town of Starke Florida. He struck a deal with prosecutors in which he paid a $5,000 fine, in exchange for having his charges dismissed as a first-time offender. Police stopped Guion February 3rd for not driving in his own lane. Officials said they caught him with over 350 grams of marijuana, a registered gun, and over $190,000 which Guion insisted was part of his football salary. Guion remains an unrestricted free agent, but his agent Seth Katz said he’s had productive talks with the Packers on a new contract. Despite his plea deal, the NFL can still punish Guion under the league’s personal conduct policy. He had 3.5 sacks and 32 tackles for Green Bay last year, after moving over from the rival Minnesota Vikings. He still has a civil case pending, in which he’s trying to get back the truck that police confiscated, along with the money inside.
