WAUKESHA, WI (WTAQ) – Students at Waukesha South High School saw more police officers Friday, after somebody wrote graffiti that made reference to the 1999 Columbine school shootings.
Parents were alerted Friday morning, after somebody wrote “This is the New Columbine” on a bathroom wall. It was signed “Crow.”
School principal Timothy Joynt and Waukesha Superintendent Todd Gray were attending a school musical Thursday night when they were alerted to the graffiti.
In an alert, Joynt told parents that Gray and Waukesha Police had worked during the night to try and get to the bottom of the matter.
The notice to parents said the threat did not appear viable, and it was safe to go to school Friday — but parents could excuse their children if they wanted to do so.
