POLK COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A jury has convicted a northwest Wisconsin man of mistreating numerous animals.
60-year-old Michael Feist of Milltown was found guilty in Polk County of 34 criminal charges — including four felony counts of causing death by animal mistreatment. Jurors also found him guilty of 30 misdemeanors including mistreating animals, and not providing them food.
The charges resulted from an investigation in 2013 at the Otter Creek Ranch.
Authorities said they made a number of visits — and they found four dead horses, plus others which appeared to be malnourished. Inspectors also said they found deep manure, and empty food and water buckets.
Feist is scheduled to be sentenced on June 2nd.
