MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) – What’s billed as the world’s largest music festival is in full swing in Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon.
Summerfest opened its gates at noon, after thousands attended a kickoff concert Tuesday night featuring Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones.
Summerfest CEO Don Smiley says it’s just the beginning.
Sheryl Crow performs Wednesday night, along with Bastille and Mavis Staples on separate stages.
Around 900,000 people are expected to attend the 11 day “Big Gig.” Over 800 acts are scheduled to perform — including Carrie Underwood, Stevie Wonder, Ed Sheeran, and the Zac Brown Band.
