MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) – The head of the Milwaukee County Board has left that post, so she can take over a new group that seeks to help working families statewide.
Marina Dimitrijevic starts her new role Friday as executive director of the Wisconsin Working Families Party. It’s a coalition of community and labor groups that will recruit political candidates who support policies that benefit working people.
She says they’ll focus on the Milwaukee area first, and then branch out statewide.
Dimitrijevic stepped down Thursday as the Milwaukee County Board chair. She’ll stay in her elected post as a county supervisor at least until next spring — when the County Board downsizes from full-time to part-time.
